Westshore Oil and Aluminum

Produces petroleum products (fuel, plastic, rubber, fabric) and aluminum at the west oil fields. This design uses all the oil nodes (2 pure, 2 normal) in the area; three bauxite nodes (2 pure, 1 normal) on the cliff; the two pure quartz nodes and pure stone node in the cave east connected by rail; and three limestone nodes further east (near the southern coal basin).
Although the overall blueprint must be placed at the west oil fields, each individual platform rig can be copied elsewhere with some modification.
Version History
2.0: Remade for Update 5 (old version had compatibility issues).
2.1: Switched to Diluted Fuel recipe and added outgoing north pipeline.
2.2: Changed train freight order to Limestone - Silica - Silica - Limestone to mitigate train flips.
Petroleum Platform
This is similar to my southeast blueprint. The 2 pure oil nodes feed 8 refineries producing polymer resin, which feed 16 refineries producing either plastic, rubber or fabric. The 2 normal oil nodes feed 8 refineries producing heavy crude, with the residue polymer resin feeding a further 8 refineries producing either plastic, rubber or fabric, with overflow sinked.
Heavy crude from the 16 refineries feed 5 petroleum coke refineries and 3 diluted fuel blenders. Petroleum coke is sent to the aluminum platform with excess sinked. Fuel is both packaged and sent northbound via pipeline.
Aluminum Platform
Excess heavy crude is fed into 4 refineries to produce petroleum coke, with overflow sinked. Bauxite is fed into 6 refineries producing sloppy alumina solution, which is fed into 8 refineries (together with petroleum coke) producing aluminum scrap and excess water.
All of that aluminum scrap and silica produces aluminum ingots by being fed into 3 x 9 foundries;
Excess water from the aluminum scrap refineries is forced back into the water input via pump.
- Sloppy Aluminia refinary 240 x 6 = 1440pm
- Electrode Aluminium Scrap refinary (300 scrap + 105 water) x 8 = (2400 scrap + 840 water)
- Aluminium foundry 60 x 27 = 1620pm
Quartz Cove
Quartz and limestone is fed into 3 groups of 28 assemblers producing cheap silica.
- Cheap Silica assembler 26.25 x 84 = 2205pm

for those who read the comments. this blueprint has the absolute basic speed pipes and conveyors designed to only just do the original job. dont bother trying to tweak this factory , or you'll waste many hours. it doesnt really produce enough of anything, despite the large number of items. trying to overclock anything will just create headaches. After having it running over a year and a serious amount of modifying, it was still inadequate and i removed the lot . stick to blueprints with high output, less machines, which achieve results efficiently without smashing the frame rate.

Drone ports are just an additional method to deliver the resources, to be used only if your other factories require it
-
I3ezwinger - Sep 24, 2023, 7:23:30 PM
how are the drones connected ?
-
xbb1024 - Jun 2, 2023, 10:15:11 PM
The train goes to the limestone deposits, then to the silica factory, then to the aluminium platform. It should just be a straight line with terminal stops.

I pasted in the 3 connected mega prints, and i am having trouble with the train system. Can you post the train timetables for the connected factories?

Train stations can be a bit troublesome when pasting them into different save files, my suggestion would be to delete and remake the station
-
Xev - Dec 18, 2022, 5:32:32 AM
Im trying to set up the trains here but its saying the station is unreachable for some reason
-
Alaor - Nov 13, 2022, 7:23:27 PM
my train is not working directly to take rubber and aluminum. it's giving signals error

Thanks for telling me about the water recycling. A quick fix is to add valves before the last 2 alumina refineries on both sides to block fresh water. I think I did this in the current blueprint, if not it'll be in a new version (when I get home from a trip).
-
Celial - Nov 8, 2022, 3:29:01 PM
Fluid recycling not working correctly, I need to flush all the water when I see no more aluminum coming from the factory

Thanks for letting me know, I'll remake the blueprint for update 5

Same here, it crashed everytime I load in game, please fix it, I really like your build, Thank you

Rotthier - Feb 7, 2022, 1:42:10 AM
something wrong with your blueprint, cant load it in the game, crash every time
